JAMMU, Aug 8: Deepak Jyoti of TDM Udhampur bagged gold medal in 74 kg weight group in the 12th All India BSNL Weight Lifting, Power Lifting and Best Physique competition held at Trichy in Tamil Nadu, recently.
Tilak Raj, TTA SDOT Billawar and Bansi Lal, Sports Inspector CGMT, J&K Circle Jammu got bronze medals in 82 kg and +110 kg weight group respectively.
According to a handout issued here, Deepak Jyoti has also been selected to represent BSNL in the forthcoming Senior National Power Lifting Championship 2012 to be held in Kerala in the month of September. Five member team of BSNL J&K Circle participated in the event.
“This outstanding performance of the lifters will go a long way in promoting the weight lifting and power lifting disciplines in CGMT J&K Circle Jammu,” said Secretary Circle Sports and Cultural Board/AGM(C&M), J&K Circle Jammu.
