JAMMU, Apr 16: Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma today inaugurated the newly constructed two floors of Priyadarshini Girls Hostel.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sharma said that in case of any complaint, the boarders should make maximum use of complaint registrar and that is the best way to get the problems addressed rather than approaching directly to the office of Vice-Chancellor.
Admitting that there have been certain students who have been overstaying in the hostels even after completing their academic programmes, he said that the greater onus lies on the boarders to bring such cases to the notice of concerned.
Prof Ramnika Jalali, Provost (Girls Hostel); Dr Rajni Bala, the Warden of Priyadarshini Girls Hostel; Prof. Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs; Prof Manoj Dhar, Registrar; Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examination; Prof Jasbir Singh, Provost Boys Hostels were also present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the newly constructed two floors of Priyadarshini Girls Hostel consist of fully furnished 32 rooms and 2 dormitories, which are in addition to existing 40 rooms. This additional accommodation of approximately one hundred seats will ease out some position of overcrowded situations of rooms and dormitories.
At present, University of Jammu is having three girls hostel catering to approximately 600 boarders.
