JAMMU, Apr 16: Prakash Utsav of Guru Nabha Dassji was celebrated at Birpur under the chairmanship of Prem Nath Kundal today.
MLA Samba, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, was the chief guest. Senior BJP leader Bansi Lal Bharti was the guest of honour. A large number of people drawn from various walk of life and adjoining areas participated in the programme. A Shobha Yatra of Guru Maharaj was also taken out in the Birpur and its adjoining areas. Youth wing of the Nabha Dal arranged and managed the langar and other services for the success and smooth functioning of the programme.
Milkhi Ram and party held the Satsang and chanted the Bhajan and Kirtan of the Guru. He also spoke on the life history of the great Guru.
The MLA in his address stressed upon the people to follow the teachings of Guru Nabha Dass ji for peace and prosperity in life and the universe. He appealed them to bet united and ensure quality of education to their children who are the future of the country besides eradicating various social evils like dowry system, alcoholism and drug abuse prevailing in the society.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Bodh Raj Rao, Som Raj Taroch, Khilari Lal, Koushal Kumar, Dina Nath Dogra, Manohar Lal and Asha Nand Premi.
