3rd Annual Gangbal Awards presented

JAMMU, Apr 19: Harmukh Ganga (Gangbal) Trust (HGGT) in association with All Parties Migrants Co-ordination Committee (APMCC) organized third Annual Gangbal Awards function here today in which prominent personalities of Kashmiri Pandit community and organizations were awarded in recognition of their contribution to community, society and Nation.
The awards were given away by Ravinder Raina, MLA Nowshera to people posthumously as well as personally in recognition of their tremendous contribution towards upliftment of Kashmiri Pandit community and their contribution to the nation as a whole.
The welcome address was made by Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC & general secretary HGGT.
An award ceremony was held in which 10 prominent personalities of Kashmiri Pandit community were honored with a memento and citation. They  include Sanjay Koul, (martyr) who laid down his life while defending his nation from terrorists in Valley, Vijay Mala renowned Singer, Prof Veena Pandita, Secretary J&K Board of School Education and acting Chairperson, Ravinder Kumar Bhat, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Ashok Koul Shaivite, Murar Ji Koul, Social Activist, Zeshtha Devi Prabhandak Committee (ZDPC) President BB Bhat, Mata Khir Bhawani Trust Tikker, GL Bhat, Kapal Mochan Tirtha Trust Shopian, Som Nath Saraf and Shardha Mata Trust Bandipore Shardha Nandan Bhat.
Dr Nirmal Vinod and Suresh Chauhan were also honored on the occasion by Anil Bhat, Bureau Chief PTI, for their contribution towards first ever Hindi Video song on Gangbal.
The annual calendar of APMCC-HGGT depicting the achievements of APMCC& HGGT during past year as well as future programmes of the twin organizations during 2015 was also released on the occasion.
A first ever video song directed by Ravi Kachroo on Ganbal yatra was also released and showcased on the occasion.
Later a CD titled Music in Exhile composed by Kuldeep Saproo was also launched by the Raina and two songs from the album were sung on stage by Deepali Wattal and Zulekha Faridi depicting the pain of the migration.
A skit Hat Honi Kheta Mein Zang directed by Vijay Dhar was also staged during the programme which received huge applauds by the audience while Ankit Hashia also mesmerized the audience with his song “Kashmir Teri Yaad Mein”.
Vinod Pandit, Chairman APMCC read the welcome address while King Bharati, senior journalist, National Spokesperson APMCC and Vice President HGGT presented vote of Thanks on the occasion.
Prominent among those present include Usha Nakhasi, Incharge Mahila Wing APMCC and Trustee, advocate Arun Kandroo, General secretary APMCC, Ravinder Pandita, Incharge Delhi Unit APMCC, Dr Agnishekhar Panun Kahsmir, RK Raina, president ASKPC, MK Yodi, former president Martand Trust, Kuldeep Raina President Mata Khir Bhawani Asthapan Manzgam and  PN Shaad.
