Ministry of Labour and Employment today said the Government is considering increasing the coverage of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) to companies that employ less than 20 employees.
In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State For Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya said, a proposal to reduce the threshold limit for coverage under the Employees Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 from 20 to 10 employees is under consideration after a comprehensive amendment to the Act.
