JAMMU, Apr 20: Resident Doctors’ Association, GMCH, today condemned the Government’s decision of scrapping direct recruitment of doctors by PSC.
In a meeting of the association held here today, the speakers lambasted the Government for new recruitment policy in which the doctors will be recruited by the district administration. Terming the decision of State Cabinet as humiliation and exploitation of doctors, who want to serve motherland, they said the Government decision will force the doctors to leave the State.
Dr Akhil Gupta, one of the members of the association said that on one hand the Government is asking the outside doctors to serve the native State and other hand exploiting and humiliating the hard working and selfless doctors, who work day and night for the welfare of the people.
He said this is shameful decision and Government should take it back. He alleged that this decision of the Government would have negative impact on the future healthcare of our State as doctors will be forced to leave the State.
Another member, Dr Waseem said instead of notifying vacancies in Health Department via PSC and empowering already existing NRHM programme, Government is demoralizing doctors by including doctors in new recruitment policy.
