JAMMU, Apr 23: High Court today stayed election for the post of Secretary of Amar Singh Club.
The order was passed in a petition filed by Dr Navindu Raizda Nand and others, who are executive committee members of Amar Singh Club. They are aggrieved over the notice issued for elections to the post of Secretary. They submitted that the impugned notice dehors the constitution of Amar Singh Club whereby Ex-secretary of the Club continuous to be the Secretary of the Club till the time four members nominated to the Executive Committee by the President of the Club and thereafter a new Secretary would be allowed but in the instant case President has not nominated any member to the Executive Committee, as such holding of the elections is not warranted.
After hearing Senior Advocate BS Salathia with Advocate Sachin Gupta appearing for the petitioners, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat issued notice returnable within two weeks. “In the meanwhile subject to objections from other side till next date of hearing before the Bench, the order Notice No ASC/130-49/15 dated April 17, 2015 so far it pertains to the elections for the post of Secretary shall remain stayed”, Justice Bhat directed.
