RAJOURI, Apr 24: The Government today suspended Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Rajouri, Dr Mehmood Hussain and I/C Block Medical Officer Kandi, Dr Nissar Ahmed Choudhary.
An official spokesman said that these officials have been suspended on the directions of the Health Minister Ch Lal Singh after an inquiry related to alleged misuse of NRHM funds, indicted these Health officials. The case pertains to the period when Dr Mehmood was posted as I/C BMO Darhal and Dr Nissar as Medical Officer, CHC Thannamandi. Pharmacist Block Darhal, Fiaz Ahmed has also been suspended in this case. They all have been attached to the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu.
Health Minister said that next senior Medical Officers have been given the charge of the posts till the new officials are placed there. He said that these officials were found involved in the embezzlement of NRHM funds and were punished as per law.
