JAMMU, Apr 27: Kashmir FC further strengthened their grip and closed the gap on league leaders with a dominant 3-1 win over Hindustan FC in the Round 10 of I-League Division 2nd at Golaghat in Assam.
The team from J&K started the proceedings by dominating the match from the start and took the lead early on when Amandeep assisted Ajay to score a goal.
The second half started on the same note again as Kashmir FC doubled their lead in the 49th minute when Christopher was fouled inside the box to which the referee awarded a penalty in favour of Kashmir FC, which was converted into a goal by Christopher. The team dominated ball possession and penetrated most of the attacks. In the 80th minute it was Christopher again who dribbled past a couple of defenders and scored his second goal with an empathic finish. Hindustan got a late consolation goal in the dying minutes with the score reading (3-1) in favour of Kashmir FC.
Kashmir FC with 22 points maintained their 2nd spot and are just 3 points behind Aizawal FC who they will be facing in an enticing encounter in the next match.
