ICF organizes “Shakir Rang”

JAMMU, Apr 30:  Indian Culture Forum (ICF) today organized “Shakir Rang”, a musical evening based on the poetry of a prominent Punjabi poet, KK Shakir, here at KL Saigal Hall.
Surinder Seerat, an eminent poet from California (USA) was the chief guest, J Chhattrepal, president, Dogri Sanstha, was the guest of honour and Sohail Kazmi, a senior journalist was the special guest. The function was presided over by Prit Pal Singh Betab, an Urdu poet of international fame.
During the programe, Punjabi Gazals of KK Shakir were beautifully sung by prominent singers of the State including Rahul Kumar, Kewal Samnotra, Sargam Pant, Virender Kapadia and Gursharan Kour.
Rahul Kumar presented ‘Pyaar Dee Manzal Na Aaee’ in Raag Bilawal, Kewal Samnotra presented ‘Mein Bhull Ke Pyaar Jataa Baithaa’ in Raag Bhairvi, Sargam Pant presented beautiful ghazal ‘Rabba Lei Chal Eisee Than’ in Raag Yaman, Virender Kapadia presented “jei Pyaar Hei Sachaa Taan Isdi’ in Raag Vrindaban Sarang, Gursharan Kour sung ‘Meithon Ho Jayee dooree Kahnoon’ in Raag Bheem Palasi.
KK Shakir also read out two of his poetical masterpieces to the pleasure of the audience.
Music director of the program, Sham Sajan also sung a beautiful ghazal ‘Muhabbat Dei Jadoon Dilkash Tarane Yaad Aunde Ne’ in Raag Darbari.
Sanjay Pashi accompanied on mandolin and guitar and Karan Malhotra on tabla.
