JAMMU, Apr 30: Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association (AWWA) has opposed the termination order of Anganwadi workers and helpers issued by Mission Director, ICDS.
Addressing a press conference, Ashok Choudhary, Incharge, Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association (AWWA) and Secretary, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh said that the Anganwadi workers and helpers are working since long and issuance of termination order is grave injustice with them.
“We condemn the order issued by Mission Director ICDS regarding termination of Anganwadi workers and helpers”, he added.
He further disclosed that the workers were engaged by Child Development Project Officers (CDPO), Programme Officers, Director, MLA and Ministers in different projects at blocks and districts in the State.
“If the Government feels that proper procedure has not been adopted for their engagement then there should be some way out for this. Disengagement of workers will not serve any result”, he added.
Choudhary asked the Government to intervene into the matter for respite to the workers, who are feeling neglected now.
He also demanded probe into the engagement of Anganwadi workers so that the guilty should be punished, who are responsible for this decision.
