JAMMU, Apr 30: VHP today appealed the people to come forward and donate generously for the quake hit people of Nepal and some parts of India which were hit by devastating earthquake on April 25 creating lot of destruction.
The appeal was made by VHP patron Dr Rama Kant Dubey at a press conference here today.
He said Bharatiya Jan Sewa Sansthan sponsored by Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) has launched earthquake relief fund to help and assist the earthquake victims.
Dr Dubey said people desirous to come forward for the help in shape of cash or bank draft  can deposit the same in the Saving Bank A/C No 10088448934 (IFC Code: SBIN )))79790) maintained by Bhartiya Jan Sewa Sansthan which is sponsored by VHP J&K.
He said the Sansthan has exemption of Income Tax under Section 80 (G) of I T Act 1961. He said the quake hit people of Nepal and some parts of India need immediate help for their rehabilitation. He said the people in quake hit areas have suffered a heavy devastation and destruction on April 25.
He said there are apprehensions that the destruction and devastation is much more than reports and under these circumstances every human heart should come forward to help these people. Even UNESCO chief Christian Manhurt stationed at Kathmandu has written about the mass destruction of religious places in the cities of Kathmandu, Bharthpur, Patan etc. Every day more and  more figures of losses are being reported, he added.
Dr Dubey said it is the special duty of India being a big nation to come forward and help Nepal at this crucial juncture. Nepal is not only our neighbor but has specific cultural and religious relations with India as well, he added.
Hem Raj Khajuria, working president VHP, S R Sharma, Rakesh Sharma and others were present in the press conference.
Meanwhile J&K Sahita Samiti in a meeting here today which was chaired by RSS leader Brig (retd) Suchet Singh it was decided tos end Rs 11 lakh immediate relief for the quake hit people of Nepal. The meeting while expressing its profound shock over the tragedy which the Nepal met also prayed for eternal peace of those who were killed in devastating quake in Nepal and some parts of India.
Brig Singh appealed people to come forward for help to Nepal at this time of tragedy.
