Bhaderwah, May 3: “Simplify the procedures for providing better services to the people”. This was stressed by the Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Bali Bhagat while chairing a meeting with the officers of District Administration and Social welfare Department at Bhaderwah today.
During the meeting with officers of Social Welfare Department from Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts, Mr. Bali Bhagat in detailed reviewed the position of scholarships, nutrition, staff position, registration of children and other issues.
While reviewing the prevailing nutrition procurement policy of the Social Welfare Department, Minister said that a new nutrition procurement policy based on e-tendering and multilevel (Laboratory, District and Anganwadi centre level) Testing of the sample of the nutrition is in the pipeline and will be finalized soon, which will ensure the procurement of better quality nutrition besides will keep a check on pilferages.
He further directed the officers to initiate the process of nutrition procurement well in time to avoid last time rush, non-availability and non-supply of materials.
Taking role of complaints regarding illegal/backdoor appointments in the Social Welfare Department, Minister directed the DPOs to conduct an inquiry and initiate requisite action in this regard. He also viewed the unauthorized absence of Anganwadi workers and helpers very seriously and ordered the authorities to terminate such non-serious employees and advertise the new posts as per the norms.
Minister also ordered the CDPO Bhaderwah to register a FIR, within 2 days against an Anganwadi worker who continued to work as RET teacher without resigning from the Social Welfare Department, despite repeated notices.
In another meeting with District Administration, Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment reviewed the Physical and Financial achievements made by District Doda during annual District Plan 2014-15.
Under MGNREGA Scheme, Mr. Bali Bhagat instructed Deputy Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar to identify some Panchayats and conduct an inquiry to check that the scheme has been properly implemented.
Progress in various Mega projects in the District including construction of District Hospital Doda, Blood Bank, SDH Bhaderwah, Trauma Hospital Khellani, Mini Secretariat building at Doda and Ganpatbridge were also reviewed and the concerned executing agencies were asked to remove the bottlenecks and expedite the pace of work.
Expressing concern over the delay in construction of certain vital roads, Mr. Bhagat impressed upon all the stake holders viz. Forest Department, Revenue Department and executing agency to fix dates for the Joint inspections. Strict instructions were issued to DFOs to identify the encroached forest land and to immediately start evictions as per the norms and rules. Division wise details of the encroached forest land was also sought by the minister for proper monitoring of the eviction process. He also reiterated the vision of the Coalition Government in the delivery of public services to the people in transparent, Accountable and time bound manner.
