SRINAGAR, May 5: On the opening of Durbar in the Summer Capital here, the Chairman of Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali accompanied by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari today inspected various sections of the Council Secretariat and interacted with the employees there.
The employees apprised the Chairman and the Minister about their problems including issues pertaining to residential accommodation.
The Chairman enjoined upon the employees to work with dedication and maintain records properly. He also asked the concerned dealing officers of different House Committees to pursue the departments for Action Taken Reports of previous Committees.
The Chairman also directed the concerned for proper parking of vehicles in the parking area for the convenience of the employees.
Later, the Chairman convened a meeting with the officers of Estates Department and took stock of the repairs and renovation works being carried out by the department at the Legislature Complex which was badly hit by the September 2014 floods.
It was given out that the works taken by the Estates Department are nearing completion. The Chairman directed the Director Estates Dr G N Itoo to speed up the pace of repair and renovation and complete the same in time-bound manner.
Secretary Legislative Council, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and other officers of Council Secretariat and Estates Department were present on the occasion.
