25 houses gutted

SRINAGAR, May 5: Twenty five houses were gutted in a devastating fire in North Kashmir district of Baramulla last night.
The fire broke out in a house at Jalal Sahib, Baramulla last night. However, the fire spread to nearby houses before the fire tenders could reach there.
Police said 14 fire tenders from different parts of the town were rushed to the spot besides help from the Army was sought to douse the leaping flames.
Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Talat Ahmad, and senior police officials were also present during the fire extinguish operation.The cause of fire is being ascertained.
No one was injured in the incident. The district administration had launched relief operation for the affected families. They distributed blankets and tents among the fire victims.
In the meantime, three houses were gutted in another fire incident this morning at Voil Kokernag in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
