JAMMU, May 5: Jammu District Inter-Zonal tournaments in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Wrestling for Under-14 and Under-17 years boys got underway at Govt. Higher Secondary School Domana, here.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Agarwal.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu in a well attended function in presence of Govind Ram, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Domana and Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, under whose supervision the tournament is being held
Meanwhile, in Kho-Kho Under-14 boys, Gandhi Nagar Zone defeated RS Pura zone by 3-1 points, Satwari Zone beat Arnia Zone by 2-0 points, Khour Zone trounced Dansal Zone by 4-1 points, Miran Sahib Zone outplayed Bishnah by 7-6 points and Akhnoor Zone got better of Chowki Choura by 7-0 points, while in Kho-Kho Under-17 boys, RS Zone beat Gandhi Nagar Zone by 10-9 points, Jourian Zone drubbed Chowki Choura Zone by 10-9 points and Khour Zone prevailed over Dansal Zone by 23-9 points.
In Kabaddi Under-14 boys, Jammu Zone beat Arnia Zone by 25-12 points, Akhnoor Zone trounced Bishnah Zone by 20-10 points, Miran Sahib Zone drubbed Jourian by 21-6 points and Chowki Choura Zone defeated Marh Zone 23-17 points, while in Kabaddi Under-17 Boys, Chowki Choura Zone beat Jammu Zone by 25-15 points, Bishnah Zone thrashed Dansal Zone by 40-18 points, Arnia Zone beat Marh Zone by 34-14 points and Miran Sahib Zone outclassed Gandhi Nagar Zone by 41-35 points.
In Volleyball Under-14 boys, Marh Zone defeated Miran Sahib Zone by 2-0 (25-21, 25-20), Bhalwal Zone beat Jourian Zone by 2-0 (26-24, 25-21), Satwari Zone got better of Dansal Zone by 2-0 sets (28-13, 25-17) and Akhnoor Zone trounced Satwari by 2-0 sets by (25-17, 25-16), while in Volleyball Under-17 boys, Jourian Zone beat RS Pura Zone by 2-0 sets, Bishnah Zone trounced Marh Zone by 2-0 sets, Arnia Zone beat Jammu Zone by 2-0 sets, Gandhi Nagar Zone outplayed Dansal by 2-0 sets and Miran Sahib Zone beat Satwari Zone by 2-0 sets.
