POONCH, May 6: The police booked a local chemist and seized 2200 psychotropic capsules from his possession in the city here last night.
A Police spokesman said that in order to check the menace of illicit drugs/ narcotic the police party led by DySP Operations Poonch Sheezan Bhat and SHO Poonch Jatinder Raina laid a trap and recovered 2200 capsules of toxic nature from the Chemist shop at Daruni Bazar Poonch. The Chemist Baljit Singh was booked in this connection. It was also discovered that Chemist used to purchase the packet for Rs 65 and sell the same at double rate to the local youth. The seized capsules were handed over to Inspector Drugs and Control Poonch for further legal action. The investigation was in progress.
