3-Day Literary Fest gets underway at Jodhamal

JAMMU, May 7: A three day long Literary Fest organized by Scholastic in collaboration with Jodhamal Public School, started in the Multi Purpose Hall of the School, here today.
The chief guest, Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor Jammu University, inaugurated the Fest by cutting the ribbon and declaring the Festival open by lighting the lamp amidst chanting of Gayatri Mantra by all the students and staff of Jodhamal.
Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Dean & Head of Faculty of Law, Jammu University was the guest of honour on this occasion.
The welcome address was presented by Radhika Sharma, HoD (English).
CCE song was sung by Jodhamal Kids in synchronization.
The dignitaries were escorted by the Trustees, Nandan Kuthiala, Arati Kuthiala, Principal, Trilok Singh Bist and Vice Principal, Monika Sethi for the browsing of books available by Scholastic, a very famous publishing house.
Chief guest, Prof RD Sharma emphasized on the need for developing reading habits among students.
Prof Jasrotia threw light on the importance of reading and developing a capacity and taste for reading.
The eminent Cartoonist Ajit Narayan conducted three sessions with students of different CBSE & J K Board Schools during the first day of this Fest. He made the sessions very interactive and all students enjoyed. Students were awarded for their creation on the spot after Ajit Narayan gave the tips to them.
Students of different schools will join the Festival and attend the story telling sessions tomorrow by International Master Story Teller Simmi Srivastava.
Prof  Sharma appreciated this kind of initiative taken by Jodhamal Public School for inculcating reading habits amongst the children in collaboration with Scholastics.
