SDM Marh finds staff in schools, Anganwadis absent

JAMMU, May 8: In continuation of her drive to ensure transparency, inculcating the work culture and raising the standard of working in the Government departments, SDM Marh Sunaina Sharma paid a surprise visit to various Anganwadi Centres at Shekhan Peer, Gole Pattan, Chatha Gujjaran, Galwadey Chak,Deory Nappu, and Government schools including Shekhan Peer, Simbli, Gaitla, Gole Pattan , Veterinary Dispensary (MVD), Gole Pattan and Medical Dispensary, Galwadey Chak of zone of tehsil Marh.
She found that the LSS and ATT were unauthorizedly absent from their duties and attendance register and other records were not maintained properly.
At Medical Dispensary, Galwadey Chak, in presence of SDM, Marh, a staffer tried to temper the attendance register. The Anganwadi centre at Galwadey Chak was found totally closed and the concerned Anganwadi worker was found unauthorisdly absent from the duty.
The Head Master at Primary School, Gole Pattan was sleeping during the duty hours in front of the school gate and the mid-day meal was also not served to the students.
At Primary School, Gaitla, the mid-day meal being served to the students was found highly sub-standard. At Primary School, Shekhan Peer, the mid-day meal had not been provided to the students for last two weeks and inspite of knowing this fact the incharge of mid-day meal scheme had till date not sent any written requisition to the higher authority in this regard .
At Anganwadi centre, Shekhan Peer, only four children were present but the anganwadi worker was found unauthorisedly absent from the duty. The nutrition meant for the adolescent girls was also not provided as per the desired quantity.
At various other Anganwari Centre, the staff was either absent or sleeping.
The SDM Marh served the show cause notice to the erring officials and enquiry has been started against the officers/officials.
