Girls Inter-Zonal competitions get underway

JAMMU, May 8: District Level Inter Zonal competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball girls Under-14 and Under-17 years got underway here at Govt. Higher Secondary School Domana.
The Competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, while Rishi Kumar, Deputy Director, Jammu is the chairman.
The competitions are being conducted under the overall supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu.
Earlier, the competitions were declared open by Ajeet Kumar Sharma, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Domana in a simple and well attended function.
In all, 650 girls drawn from 14 zones of District Jammu are taking part in the competitions.

In Kho-Kho Girls Under-17 years, Jourian Zone beat Chowki Choura by (6-2) points; Gandhi Nagar beat R.S. Pura by (6-5) points; Bishnah Zone beat Marh Zone by (3-2) points; Jammu Zone beat Arnia Zone by 1 turn and 8 point and Miran Sahib Zone beat Satwari Zone by 1turn and 4 points, while in Kho-Kho Girls Under-14 years girls, Akhnoor Zone defeated Chowki Choura by (3-2) points; Marh Zone got better of Bishnah Zone by (7-2) points; Khour Zone beat Dansal Zone by (4-3) points; Satwari Zone prevailed over Arnia by 1turn & 3 points and Gandhi Nagar Zone bear R S Pura by 1 turn and 2 points.
The matches in volleyball and Kabaddi Under-14 and Under-17 girls were also held during the day.
