KATRA, May 9: Katra Police today arrested three Ponywallas and seized 400 gm Charas as well as 100 gm Chilkas from their possession.
The arrested accused persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmed of Deda Gool, Arshad Hussain and Sadam Hussain of Karm Katha, Mahore. They were apprehended from their rented room at Chintmani.
Acting on a specific information that some Ponywallas were involved in smuggling of drugs, special Police team, headed by SHO Katra Kuldeep Krishan under the supervision of ASP Katra Samir Kotwal and SDPO Katra Ashok Sharma, raided the room and recovered 400 gm charas and 100 gm Chilka from the possession of the accused.
In this connection, a case under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation of the case was in progress.
