JDS condemns Govt for using force on protesting employees

JAMMU, May 9: A meeting of Janta Dal Secular (JDS) was held today at party headquarters here at Raghunath Bazaar, wherein the office bearers of the party condemned the use of force on demonstrating contractual and casual employees of the State Government at Srinagar.
The meeting expressed strong resentment over the issue and flayed the Government and police for cane charging the contractual and casual employees of the State Government, who were marching peacefully from Partap Park to Civil Secretariat.
The participants said that instead of meeting the genuine demands of the employees Government is provoking them for violence.
The meeting appealed the Government to regularize all the employees who are serving as casual labourers and on contractual basis for more than seven years without any further delay.
The participants also appealed the Government to pay immediate compensation to the farmers whose crops was damaged in recent heavy rains and hail storms.
