RAJOURI, May 9: The people from Rajal in Nowshera area held protest demonstration and blocked Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch road after dead body of a youth was recovered from nearby forests early today.
Some people noticed the body and informed police. The people of area also rushed there and later SHO Nowshera also reached. The deceased was later identified as Safzad Ahmed (25), son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Rajal. He was a daily wager in the PDD. Some injury marks were also visible on the body.
The police shifted the body for postmortem to Nowshera hospital and started inquest proceedings into the case.
The family members, relatives and the villagers from Rajal today sat on dharna on the Jammu Poonch highway and disrupted movement of traffic for several hours. They alleged that youth was murdered and it was not suspicious case as claimed by police. They also placed body there for some time and raised slogans against police authorities.
The movement of traffic remained disrupted on the busy highway for about four hours. Later, the police gave assurance that they would solve the case shortly. With the intervention of SDM and Addl SP the people lifted dharna and allowed movement of the traffic. Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that two persons have been detained in this connection.
