JAMMU, May 13: Six students along with two teachers returned after taking part in a seven days students exchange programme at Maharana Mewar Public School, Udaipur in Rajasthan.
The exchange programme was aimed at developing better understanding of similarities and differences between the two ancient cultural cities as well as to exchange the educational ideas between the two institutions.
The students got the privilege to meet the 76th custodian of Mewar, Arvind Singh Mewar. The students were honoured to meet his highness who interacted with the students, blessed them and presented gifts to the students.
As a part of the programme the students took part in many of the activities conducted in Maharana Mewar Public School such as pottery, painting, tie and dye, music etc.
Jodhamal students also learnt Rajasthani folk dance and songs. They presented Dogri folk song and Kashmiri song in the special assembly conducted by MMPS students which was appreciated by one and all.
The students also played a friendly cricket and volleyball matches with MMPS students which encouraged sportsmanship among the students. The interaction between the students of the two schools resulted in making stronger bonds between the two schools.
The students of JMPS and MMPs together presented a dogri song. The students were also taken to various historical places which include Haldighati, City palace, Shikarbadi, Moti magri, Sahelion ki Bari, Fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola , Jagmandir and Eklingji Mandir.
The students were mesmerized to see the beauty of these places. The students during their visits to various museaums were briefed about the life and times of Maharana Pratap, Rana Kumbha, Meerabai, Padmini and the tales of valour of the house of Mewar.
The staff and students of Jodhamal Public school thanked the tireless efforts of GM administration Col Ajit Singh Rathore, staff of Maharana Mewar Trust , Principal Sanjay Dutta and the Vice Principal Manju Chouhan.
