JAMMU, May 14: Tied on the points table in the pool stage of 5th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2015 (Division B), Chandigarh Olympic Association (COA) met Hockey Bihar in an all important penalty shoot-out, outcome of which was to ensure a berth in the semi finals of the B-division tournament. It was Chandigarh Olympic Association who kept its nerves as they found the nets twice and will now play the semifinals.
The shootout started with equal pressure coming in from both the sides where both the teams tried creating chances in the opponent’s D. But, it was Chandigarh Olympic Association’s Maninder Singh and Prabhjeet Singh who managed to find the goal box winning the shoot-out 2-0. While Hockey Bihar made attempts to save brilliantly and even tried to go past the opponent’s goalkeeper during their shots, they were unable to stand the pressure from the opposition today.
With this Chandigarh Olympic Association will now face Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hockey Association in the semi-finals scheduled to take place on 16th May 2015.
Now, Dadra & Nagar Haveli Hockey Association will lock horns with Chandigarh Olympic Association and Hockey Madhya Pradesh will take on Hockey Patiala in the semifinals on May 16, 2015.
