JAMMU, May 14: Tehsildar (Executive Magistrate) Maira Mandrian in Akhnoor, Rajinder Bhagat today conducted surprised inspection of several Government offices and schools in the areas under his jurisdiction and found the Block Development Officer (BDO) absent from the office till 9.30 am.
Mr Bhagat locked room of the BDO as his whereabouts were not ascertained. Only three employees of the BDO office were present.
The Tehsildar has sent letter to the BDO seeking number of total employees in his office and his absence from the duty. He has informed the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor about absence of the BDO.
Mr Bhagat also inspected Government high school and Primary Health Centre at Maira Mandrian and found that some members at the PHC were absent.
The Tehsildar has sought copies of the register for further verifications. Register of the school has been seized.
