Woman found hanging; DC orders inquiry

JAMMU, May 17: A magisterial enquiry was ordered into the suspicious death of a woman, who was found hanging at her in-laws home in Channi Himmat.
According to SHO, police station Channi Himmat, Inspector Ajaz Ahmed Wani, the woman identified as Sheetal Sharma (29) wife of Parveen Sharma, a resident of Sector 4, H.No- 444, Channi Himmat, was found hanging in suspicious condition at her in-laws residence, late last night.
On getting information police reached the spot and shifted the dead body of the deceased to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where a board of doctors comprising Dr Dipti Mahajan, Dr Satish Parihar and Dr Sangeet Bhagat conducted the post mortem of the body in presence of Magistrate.
As no suicide note was recovered from the spot, a case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered in this connection at police station Channi Himmat and further investigations started.
As parents of the deceased lady expressed something fishy in the death of their daughter, the DC Jammu on their demand ordered a magisterial inquiry into the case, which is to be done by concerned Tehsildar.
