JKCA hands over Rs 2 lakh as token of respect to Late Barjinder Singh’s family

JAMMU, May 18: In contribution to his outstanding services in cricketing field in various capacities as Ranji Trophy player, official, manager and above all a working committee member and in rare humanitarian gesture, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), under the directions of Dr Farooq Abdullah, its president, handed over Rs 2 lakh as a token of admiration to the family of Late Barjinder Singh in a simple function at his residence, here.
The decision with regard to handing over the amount to the family of Barjinder Singh was taken by Dr Farooq in a recently held meeting of office bearers at Srinagar.
The sanctioned cheque of Rs 2 lakh was presented to Suresh Kumari, wife of Late stylish cricketer by Arvinder Singh Micky, chairman Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at his Panjtirthi residence.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were former chairman JKCA, Romesh Mahajan; former Ranji Trophy player, member BCCI and JKCA working committee, Ankush Abrol; member working committee JKCA, Rajesh Dhar; chairman JKCA junior selection committee, Ashok Dutta and Virender Malhotra, member working committee JKCA.
It is pertinent to mention here that Brajinder Singh was a permanent member of the old and prominent club of JKCA namely Jammu Cricket Club.
