DODA, May 19: To take stock of the problems faced by the people of the remote areas, MLA Doda, Shakti Raj Parihar along with the officers of district administration today toured the Shiva and Shirarna areas
Deputation of people from different walks of life interacted with MLA and apprised him of the issues pertaining the area. Responding to the demand for regular supply of drinking water to the rain fed Kandi area of the Shiva-Sherarna, Mr. Parihar assured that matter will be taken up with the concerned departments to augment the water supply in the area to mitigate the problem of water shortage.
Expressing concern over the delay in the completion of various stalled road projects, Mr. Parihar directed the concerned officers of PWD to expedite the construction of Shiva-Sherarna link road and ensure its timebound completion .He also directed for taking up the black topping work of Kalote-Shiva link road.
MLA inspected Govt. Higher Secondary School Shiva and reviewed the staff position there. Responding to the issue of shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, Mr. Parihar directed the Chief Education Officer Doda to streamline the positing of teachers within 3 days so that sufficient staff is available in the rural areas. Over the stalled work on the additional building of Govt. HSS Shiva, MLA directed the executing agency to expedite the process as land has been acquired for the project.
Pending MGNREGA payments, timely restoration of roads, water supply, uninterrupted power supply, stock position in the stores of CA&PD, functioning of Anganwadi centres and of health institutions were also reviewed during interactions with the public and necessary directions were given to the authorities for redressal.
