KATRA, May 19: 44th Annual Roun-Domail Kesari Vishal Dangal 2015″ a historic wrestling event of the State was organized by Thill Roun-Domail Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma, Numberdar Dharam Singh Ranyal, president of the Dangal Committee and Om Parkash Verma, general secretary, District Udhampur Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The first main bout (1st malli) was fought between wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police of Basantgarh, Udhampur and wrestler Sanjay of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi. Benia defeated his rival in 31 minutes bout and was declared winner.
He was presented a cash prize of Rs 25,000 along with Patta of Roun-Domail Kesari Title 2015 by Pawan Kumar Gupta, Minister of State for Finance and IT and treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Cash prize of Rs 20,000 was given to runners-up wrestler Sanjay by R S Pathania, MLA Ramnagar and Dharam Singh Ranyal. 13 bouts were played in a one day long wrestling competition
MoS for Finance Pawan Kumar Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among the winner and runner-up. MLA R.S Pathania and Shiv Kumar Sharma were the guests of honour.
Retd. S P Prithvi Raj Sharma, vice president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Varinder Badyal, general secretary, District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), DySP Gourav Mahajan, SHO Mahesh, Advocate Swantatnter Dev Kotwal, Deepak Anand, Yuv Raj Katoch and Sarpanch Rehmat Ali were among the prominent persons present on the occasion.
