Regional Transformer Repairing Workshop being setup in South Kashmir : Mehbooba

page5-8KULGAM, May 20: Member Parliament, Mehbooba Mufti today asserted that the present Coalition Government will make all out efforts to ensure scheduled electric supply,  portable drinking water and better road connectivity for which steps are being taken, results of which will be felt on ground very soon.
Chairing the District Electricity Committee meeting here today, the MP asked all concerned officers to ensure un-interrupted scheduled power supply in the district as the damaged infrastructure of electric poles and wire is being replaced under different Centrally sponsored schemes. She further said that a Regional Transformer Repairing Workshop is being set up at Anantnag which will cater to the transformer repair needs of South Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Forests, PHE & Irrigation Ab. Majeed Padder, MP, Nazir Ahmad Laway, legislators, Ab. Majeed Bhat and Mohammad Amin Bhat.
It was given out in the meeting that five new receiving stations are being established in the district besides augmentation of the existing ones. She urged the concerned legislators to contribute out of their Constituency Development Funds for setting up and augmenting the existing receiving stations.
Ms. Mufti urged all concerned legislators to work in close co-ordination to let the general public harvest the benefits of central and State sponsored programmes.
