KATRA, May 21: Katra Police has arrested a bootlegger and two drug peddlers during separate nakas.
Reports said a special Police team, led by SHO Katra, intercepted two persons at Nomai and seized 500 gms poppy straw from their possession. Each the accused, identified as Naval Kishore of Amritsari Dharamsalla Arli Road Katra and Mushtaq Ahmed of Nomai, was carrying 250 gms poppy straw. The duo was arrested and a case FIR under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
In a separate success, police team intercepted a bootlegger during checking at Panthal and recovered 40 poly pouches of liquor from his possession. The accused, identified as Bhag Singh of Hansali Katra, was carrying these liquor pouches in his scooter, bearing registration number JK14C- 7451.
