Kishtwar hospital in shamble: Kichloo

KISHTWAR, May 24: Former Minister of State for Home and Member Legislative Council Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today slammed the PDP-BJP Government over the shamble condition of the District Hospital Kishtwar.
In a press statement issued here today, Sajjad Kichloo said that the much hyped posting of over 20 doctors at District Hospital by the BJP Minister proved to be a hollow slogan. He said that majority of doctors posted at District Hospital Kishtwar did not join their duties and if anyone among them joined, they proceed for leave. Many doctors who rendered their services generously in Kishtwar were transferred from District Hospital result into total failure of the health services in Kishtwar, he said and added that due to transfer of local doctors; District Hospital Kishtwar has become referral hospital. He further said that it was not only people of Kishtwar who are facing the problem due to non availability of doctors, but people visiting from adjoining areas of Doda, Thatri, Gandow, Panjie of Himachal Pradesh visiting District Hospital Kishtwar for treatment were also suffering due to apathetic attitude of present Government. Like District hospital Kishtwar, there is also shortage of medicines and doctors in far flun areas of the District including Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Machail and other areas of the District, he added.
Kichloo said that many people including children living in Marwah, Warwan and Machail are suffering from various diseases and special team of doctors should be sent in these areas for conducting medical check up of the people living in these areas which are still under the snow cover since last six months. He said that it was not only Health Department which is in shamble condition, the people of Kishtwar are also facing acute shortage of drinking water, poor condition of roads and shortage of ration in Government run deports.
