USKA organizes Belt Grading Certificate Distribution function

JAMMU, Aug 12: The Universal Shotokan Karate-Do Association (USKA) Jammu and Kashmir, organized an impressive and well attended function to distribute certificates among the various Belt holders at Ved Mandir, Ambphalla, here today.
Ashok Gupta, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) was the chief guest on the occasion, while senior journalist, Surinder Sharma, social activist, Sneh Bali and Principal Army School Akhnoor, KCS Mehta were the guests of honour.
The chief guest and the guests of honour distributed certificates among the various Belt holders on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta stressed upon the karatekas to always play the games with sportsman spirit and said that it needs devotion, dedication, determination and even renunciation for achieving goals in any field. He advised the budding karatekas for not falling prey to doping or allied practices in order to blossom in the field of sports.
Surinder Sharma, in his address said that witnessing young sportspersons performing is always a delight to watch, rather smacks an ecstatic feeling in one’s mind. He advised the karatekas to take part in games and sports for all-round development, besides excelling in academies.
Earlier, the programme began with the demonstration by gold medallist in AIKF National (Junior/Cadet), 2012, Pallavi Sharma, who has the distinction of representing India in Asia Karate Championship held at Tashkand in Uzbekistan, recently. She was accompanied by Ishita Raina, gold medallist in J&K State Shito Ryu Sheiko Kai Karate Championship and silver medallist in 7th All India Independence Cup Karate-Do Championship-2011.
The Belt Grading certificates were distributed among the following karatekas:
Yellow Belt: Himanshu Dhiman (KV Nagrota), Vasu Khajuria (DPS, Jammu), Swastik Gupta (KV, Gandhi Nagar), Yaahan Dutta (DPS, Jammu) and Eru Vantika Bali (Tiny Tots, Jammu).
Orange Belt: Monika Mehra (Neelam Public School, Janipur), Kushal Sharma (Cresent Public School, Janipur), Aadi Maqbool (KC Public School), Arya Dev S Kotwal (DPS, Jammu), Vishuram Thakur (DPS, Jammu), Varun Dev Singh Kotwal (DPS, Jammu) and Sankalp Soni (DPS, Jammu).
Green Belt: Palak Dhiman (Crescent Public School, Jammu).
Brown Belt: Vanshu Mehra (Neelam Public School, Janipur) and Mohit Kapoor (Jagriti Niketan, Kachi Chawani).
Black Belt: Rohit Mahajan (Nowshera, Rajouri), Anil Kumar (Pouni, Reasi), Shruti (Jammu), Sachin Kumar (Army Public School, Akhnoor), Ishita Raina (KC Public School) and Arun Dev Singh Jamwal (Law student, University of Jammu).
Earlier, Sanjay Kumar, president cum chief instructor, USKA in his welcome addressed threw light on the history of this martial art.
Later-on, vote of thanks was presented by Ramma Raina, general secretary, USKA, who also conducted proceedings of the programme.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ashwani Charak, Vibodh Gupta, Rajesh, Shriti, Anil Kumar and Rinku Sharma, technical director, USKA, J&K.
