SRINAGAR, May 26: Ashwani Kumar, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests, called on Governor, N.N. Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
This Parliamentary Panel is currently in J&K to study the issues relating to the provision of relief to the people who were affected by the floods in September 2014 and their rehabilitation.
Mr. Kumar shared with the Governor his concerns about the ongoing relief and rehabilitation process in the State.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Secretary, Health and Medical Education, called on Governor and briefed him about the arrangements which are being made for the forthcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra, relating to the location of Medical Camps enroute Yatra track, positioning of doctors and para-medical staff, ,issuance of Health Certificates for the intending pilgrims, stocking of medicines in the medical camps etc.
The Governor advised Dr. Bhandari to deploy Specialist Doctors at the Base Hospitals at the Yatra Camps which are being setup at Baltal, Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni and the Holy Cave and at each of the Medical Aid Centers along the tracks to the Shrine.
