NEW DELHI, June 1: Chana prices moved up by 1.05 per cent to Rs 4,924 per quintal in futures market as speculators enlarged positions taking positive cues from spot market on rising demand.
In addition lower output estimates due to unseasonal rains in key growing regions supported the upside.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July rose by Rs 51, or 1.05 per cent to Rs 4,924 per quintal with an open interest of 1,07,270 lots.
In a similar fashion, the commodity for delivery in June contracts gained Rs 48, or 1.01 per cent to Rs 4,818 per quintal in 93,270 lots.
Analysts said apart from rising demand in the spot markets, reports of lower output this year mainly led an upward movements in chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
