Chennai registers thrilling win over Gujarat; POC Bangladesh, FCC share 1-1 points

DODA, June 1: Chennai registered thrilling win over Gujarat by 9 wickets in the ongoing All India 11th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium here.
Earlier after winning the toss, Gujarat elected to bat first and scored 69 runs for the loss of all wickets in 14.5 overs. Raja Ali was the highest scorer with 18 runs while Pankaj contributed with 14 runs.
From Chennai side, Kishore was the pick of the bowler with three wickets while Shahrukh claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, Chennai team chased the target in 5.3 overs for the loss of just 1 wicket. Shubash was the highest scorer with 55 runs while Darvesh also made 6 runs.
For Gujarat side, Raja Ali took 1 wicket.
Shubash of Chennai was declared as man of the match for his best batting performance.
The second match was played between Pirates of Chittagong (POC) Bangladesh and Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Thathri.
Batting first after winning the toss, POC Bangladesh scored 53 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 7 overs.
Later, the match was abandoned due to bad weather and the teams shared 1-1 points each.
Mohi-ud-Din Rubel was the highest scorer who scored 16 runs while Arman Ullah contributed 14 runs for the POC Bangladesh.
From FCC Thathri, Shabir take 2 wickets while Ashfaq claimed 1 wicket.
The matches were officiated by Arif-ur-Rehman and Sanjay Chouhan as umpires. Salinder Singh Bhaduria acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, Doda, J&K Bank, Natnoo Furnishing House Doda and Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda.
