RAJOURI, June 1: Ongoing indefinite strike by Need Based Workers and Casual Labourers of PWD(R&B) entered into 17th day today.
The protesting workers held a strong protest demonstration and raised slogans in support of their demands. The protest was organized under the banner of PWD (R&B) Casual/Need Based Workers Union Rajouri.
They are demanding creation of a special head for the purpose of paying regular wages, release of pending wages, formulation of a concrete policy for regularization of services of casual labourer, etc.
While addressing the protesters, the union president  Mohammed Riaz Mughal condemned the delaying policy of the State Government regarding the genuine issues of casual Labourers,  Need based workers and ITI trained workers working in PWD(R&B). He lamented that despite framing a policy by the previous Government in  October 2014  for regularization of services of casual Labourers and  Need based workers, no progress in this regard has been made during the last eight months.
He threatened a  mass agitation in case the Government does not fulfill their long pending demands.
Others, who addressed the protest rally included Abdul Kaleem Bhatti,  Shaheen Bhatt, Sonika Sharma, Murtaza Anjurn Mir,  Riaz Ahmed Dar,  Akhilesh Mehta,  Vikas Sharma,  Mohd Shabir Manhas, Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, Mushtaq Ahmed, Kafeel Ahmed, Anoop Sharma, Ajeet Sharma, Shokit Ahmed and  Rajesh Kumar.
