Army to train children under Operation Sadbhavana

POONCH, June 2: Under the aegis of Krishna Ghati Brigade, Sarle Bn had undertaken a project of training and sponsoring children of Gulpur village of Poonch Sub division under  Operation Sadbhavana for entrance into Army Public School, Beas, Punjab.
In its inception stage, the battalion provided training to two children, namely Usman Khan (age 12 years) and Aamir Faiz Khan (age 10 years), both residents of Gulpur who succeeded in clearing the written exam for class VII and VI of APS, Beas respectively and now a part of the school with effect from  April 6, 2015 for the current academic session.
This initiative by the unit will not only help in identifying and promoting deserving candidates for enrollment into public schools such as APS, but will also assist in exposing the local populace of border villages to the mainstream education system.
The initiative was highly appreciated by the locals and will go a long way in fostering the civil military relationship.
