Elderly man commits suicide by hanging

UDHAMPUR, June 2: An elderly man committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his residence at village Dubli of Chak area, here this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Roop Lal (59), son of Sardari Lal of Dubli Chak. He was found hanging from a tree. On being informed by some locals, Police shifted the body to hospital for legal formalities.
According to reports, the deceased was a barber by profession while cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, Driver and conductor of a truck sustained critical injuries when their vehicle rolled down in a deep gorge near Tikri.
The truck, bearing registration number PB051-9356 was on way to Kashmir. The injured were identified as Harpreet Singh, son of Sukhdev Singh and Kewal Singh, son of Sharan Singh of  Amritsar, Punjab.
