8 bovines rescued, driver held

RAMBAN, June 3: In a drive to curb bovine smuggling, Ramsoo police arrested a driver and rescued 8 milch animals.
As per police sources, police team from Ramsoo police station raised a special naka and signaled a Mahindra vehicle JK19-1943 to stop.
On seeing police party, the driver accelerated the vehicles and tried to escape, but police chased the vehicle and intercepted it near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 8 bovine animals and arrested driver of the vehicle, who has been identified as Mohammad Younus, son of Mohammad Qasim of Parnote, district Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 32/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against the bovine smuggler at police station Ramsoo and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramsoo police station Inspector Abdul Momin Zargar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
