JAMMU, June 5: Members of the Co-ordination Committee and general public of Jammu organized a candle light protest march to register anger against the insensitive and inflexible authorities which have put them on the war path.
The Coordination Committee as a mark of protest held a candle light procession which started from Brahman Sabha Parade and culminated at City Chowk, Shalamar.
Meanwhile, reacting to the statement of MoS in PMO that sanctioned AIIMS will be first established in Jammu, Chairman of AIIMS Co-ordination Committee and President, J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu Abhinav Sharma asked him if what is said was an officials or his personal statement.
He also urged the MoS to clear the confusion created by his own statement made in Srinagar the same day that Jammu should also get AIIMS as an institute has been given to Kashmir for enhancing healthcare facilities to the people.
He said that a clarification from Dr Jitendra Singh has become absolutely necessary. He said it would have been better had he cleared the air by making an official statement that the AIIMS, which was sanctioned for Jammu will be established in Jammu.
Sharma said that people of Jammu province had never ever expected that those who were given the mandate would follow the footsteps of other parties.
The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled to be held tomorrow in the office of Chamber of Commerce at Bahu Plaza to discuss the further course of action.
