SRINAGAR, June 6: Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, inaugurated the Police Public Cricket Premier League (PPCPL), here this evening in an attractive opening ceremony at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium.
Chairman, Legislative Council, Inayat Ali, Minister for Revenue, Javed Mustafa Mir, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Minister for IT, YS&S and Technical Education, Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar, Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjey, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiya Naqash, legislators, besides several other senior officers of police administration, including ADGP Headquarters, S. P. Vaid and IGP, Kashmir, SJM Gillani, attended the programme.
The function was hosted by renowned commentator Charu Sharma and attended by a large number of people. Former Indian player Mohammad Kaif and J&K Ranji team captain Pervez Rasool were also present.
The Chief Minister also released the theme song and tournament fixture, besides unveiling the PPCPL Trophy.
Later, the Chief Minister also presented mementoes to Mohamamd Kaif and Pervez Rasool.
During the high-profile cricketing extravaganza, being organized for the first time in the State, 12 teams will lock horns in T-20 format for which special arrangements have been made, including third umpire reviews.
