JAMMU, June 7: Speaker State Assembly and MLA from Gandhi Nagar Constituency, Kavinder Gupta today toured Sector- 2&3 of Channi Himmat and convened public grievances camp in the area.
Gupta was accompanied by Surat Singh Charak, Kishore Sharma, Er. Ashwani Khosla, Kulbir Charak, Ishant Gupta, Vijender Dutta, Pardeep Sharma and officers of the concerned departments.
Locals projected various demands pertaining to augmentation of portable water, construction of over head tank, repair of roads, transport facility for the area, proper drainage system for the colony, parking facility in the area, maintenance of the parks.
Interacting with people, the Speaker first expressed his gratitude to the people of the area for ensuring his victory by such a huge margin and said his win would not have been possible without the participation of the people and that too in large numbers. It is his duty to take care of all their problems and to mitigate them in the shortest possible time, he added.
While responding to the demands of the people, Gupta said the people have high expectation from the present Government and all possible resources are being pooled to address their genuine demands. The Speaker informed the people that the work on the Thanger nallah will be completed within time and the work of blacktopping of channi roads is already been taken up with the concerned department and it will start very soon.
The Speaker said that a well conceived plan have been formulated to give boost to the development projects for comprehensive development of the area besides ensuring that the benefits reaches to the deserving. He directed the administration to generate awareness among the people about Centrally sponsored schemes so that people easily avail their benefit and improve their lives.
