JAMMU, June 7: An unidentified male body was recovered today from a canal in the Bishnah area of city outskirts while another body of a man was recovered from a canal in Phallawala area of Akhnoor.
According to a police spokesperson, at about 9 am today the locals noticed a body of young man of about 25 years of age caught under the bridge of a canal in village Sikanderpur, which was later retrieved by a police team, which shifted it to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for identification.
Meanwhile, another body of a male identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Dev Raj of Rajpura-Shakti Nagar was recovered today from a canal in Phallawala area of Akhnoor. The body of the deceased was shifted to GMCH for completing medico-legal formalities.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
