JMC inspects food establishments, takes samples for testing

JAMMU, June 9: During the routine random inspection conducted by JMC to evaluate food service facilities, the team of Food Safety Officers under the supervision of Health Officer, Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan on the directions of Commissioner JMC Saujanya Sharma inspected various food establishments like dhabas, restaurants, provisional stores and wholesale outlets for any food safety violations.
During inspection of Best Price Wallmart India Pvt. Ltd., eight nos. of samples were lifted from its premises for analysis to ascertain their standard of purity. The detail of samples which were taken include two samples of Macroni, Bambino brand, Pasta, Delmonte brand, Pasta, Renoldu brand, Noodles Everplus brand, Noodles, Hakka Noodles, Noodles, Noodles, Sunfeast Yippi Noodles, Vermicelli Sevian, Bambino brand.
Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan Designated Health Officer also inspected hygienic conditions and environmental sanitation of food establishments. Instructions were issued to the Food Business Operators to rectify the shortcomings within their premises. He told that nobody will be allowed to play with public health. The Food business operators were also directed to obtain/ renew their food licenses / registrations under Section 31 of FSS Act 2006 before August 4, 2015 otherwise legal action as warranted under the Act would be initiated against the defaulters.
