REASI, June 10: A symposium on the theme “Save Your Environment’ was held at Government High School, Pouni today.
In the competition, 19 students of the school participated. Ayushi Sharma of class 10th, Deepshikha Sharma of class 10th and Shivani Sharma were adjudged first and second respectively, whereas Jhanvi of 9th class secured third position. Neelakshi of class 3rd got consolation prize for her performance in the event.
The programme was adjudged by Rekha Sharma and Jeet Prakash, teachers and Sushil Kumar, Master.
The participants were given prizes by Zonal Education Officer Pouni Gopal Krishan Sharma, Vaishno Devi Headmistress of the school and Jatinder Dev, Headmaster MS Lair.
Zonal Education Officer while speaking on the occasion asked the students and participants to take part in co-curricular activities.
Jatinder Dev Sharma, who was the resource person on the occasion threw light on various aspects of environment and appealed the students and teachers commonly to live in harmony with nature.
Sanjeev Kumar Sharma CRP conducted the proceedings of the programme and also recited poems on the theme.
Among others present were Mohinder Dass, Ganesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Raj Kumar and Anil Kumar.
