Priya inaugurates one day training-cum-workshop of AICTE

SRINAGAR, June 10: The Department of Higher Education today organised one day training-cum-workshop at S.P College Srinagar with the help of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in connection with Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).
The Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion,Ms Sethi said that  the idea behind organizing such workshops is to facilitate the scheme and reach out to the downtrodden sections of the society. She assured that the scheme would be implemented at the grass-root level, so that the students get benefit from it and make their future secure.

The Chairman, All India council for Technical Education, Dr. A.S. Pant presented the over view of the scheme. He spoke at length on the technicalities involved in the conception and execution of PMSSS and instructed the audience regarding the handling of the counseling session that would follow the workshop.
Earlier, the Principal of the college highlighted the importance of such schemes for the under privileged students of the State and also hoped that the scheme be either made a permanent feature or extended.
Director AICTE, Dr. N.H. Siddalinga Swami, Director AICTE (J&K Cell), Dr. R.S Rathore, Director Colleges, Prof. T.A Kawoos and Director Education, Showkat Ahmad Beigh besides Principals of different colleges, Higher secondary Schools and students of different colleges were present on the occasion.
