JAMMU, June 10: Minister for Social Welfare, Forests, Ecology & Environment, Bali Bhagat convened a meeting of sectoral officers of various departments, here today and took stock of the developmental activities in Raipur-Domana constituency.
The Minister discussed the status of various ongoing schemes in the constituency and called upon the officers to speed up the pace and complete the projects in time-bound manner. He directed the officers to maintain close coordination with the locals and ensure active participation of people in the developmental activities to achieve better results. He said people of the State have voted for change in anticipation of better facilities and services, therefore, the officers should make sincere efforts to fulfill the expectations of the people.
Maintaining that transparency, accountability and performance are the three key factors for good governance, the Minister said that the officers must focus on the fundamentals and create an impact on the ground. He said it is endeavor of the PDP-BJP Government to reach out to every individual to make him/her partner in the development process.
He issued strict instructions for ensuring punctuality in the offices and serving the people with polite and friendly attitude.
Taking serious note of the drinking water and power scenario in the constituency, the Minister directed the concerned to chalk out a strategy to deal with these two important basic services. He asked for fine tuning the infrastructure and keeping round the clock vigil on the situation. He directed for pressing into service the water tankers in the vulnerable areas to meet the emergency.
He also directed for preparing DPRs for upgradation of PHE, PDD and road infrastructure so that the necessary funds were arranged. He also directed the concerned officers to step up field visits to address issues expeditiously. He also directed the officers to expedite finalization of working plans for the current year so that the funds are allocated at the earliest.
Officers gave detailed feed-back about the developmental activities in the constituency and steps initiated to mitigate the problems of the people, especially related to the drinking water, health, power and social welfare.
Director Floriculture, K.K. Sharma, SDM, Jammu North, Piyush Singla and Sectoral Officers of several departments including PHE, PDD, JMC, UEED, Revenue, PWD and Rural Development Departm-ents etc were present in the meeting.
