UDHAMPUR, June 11: A middle aged man was burnt to death in the bed room of his house at Battal Ballian area of Udhampur today.
The deceased was identified as Tara Chand (50), son of Prem Nath of Kanjali Battal Ballian. He was caught in fire while lighting a match stick, which accidentally fell on his bed resulting into the mishap.
Tara Chand sustained critical burn injuries and was rushed to hospital by the family members. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the family members, the deceased was a patient and bed ridden for more than a year.
